Thinking the Unthinkable

You know you're no longer in "loony warmonger" territory when even those on the left join you in contemplating military action to check Iran's nuclear ambitions. As unpalatable as the prospect may be, I just don't see anything else getting in the way of Iran becoming a nuclear power, and the prospect of such weapons in the hands of such an erratic regime bothers me to no end, as it ought anyone who's willing to contemplate the possible consequences. If the Iranians are willing to be this difficult now, despite their military weakness and despite the shameful lengths to which Blair's government has gone to build ties with them, what are we to expect of them once they enjoy the impunity afforded by nuclear arms?
